Plot
Frank and Casey are traveling to a place, somewhere in time and space known as Tomorrowland. In Tomorrowland their actions and decisions directly afflict the earth and themselves.
Production
The green light is given to the project in June 2011 by Sean Bailey of Walt Disney Pictures, together with the announcement that Damon Lindelof would have served as writer and producer of the film, and in May 2012 is confirmed director Brad Bird.
Cast
In November 2012 George Clooney enters into negotiations for the lead role of the film, while in February 2013 Hugh Laurie signing for the role of the antagonist of the film.
For the role of Casey Newton was initially chosen the actress Shailene Woodley, who refused the part. Subsequently, the part was offered also to Naomi Scott, before finally settling Britt Robertson in July of 2013.
Camera and location
The shooting of the film begin August 19, 2013 in Enderby, British Columbia in Canada, then moved to Vancouver and Surrey. In October following the shooting take place in the City of Arts and Sciences of Valencia. In November, however, some sequences are shot at the Walt Disney World Resort and the New Smyrna Beach, both in Florida. Filming ending January 15, 2014, but February 5 are made of additional footage, without the actors, inside the attraction It's a Small World Disneyland California.
Title
Initially the Walt Disney Pictures had titled the project in 1952, but was later changed the title in Tomorrowland, the same name of one of the Disney parks.
Soundtrack
The soundtrack of the film is edited by Michael Giacchino, who has worked with Damon Lindelof and Brad Bird in the past.
Distribution
The first teaser trailer for the film is broadcast October 9, 2014 from the YouTube channel of Disney Movie Trailers. The Italian version is widespread April 9, 2015.
The film will be distributed in US theaters starting on May 22, 2015, and in the Italian ones from 21 May.
