Boss of HTC quipped: Samsung Just Search Profit

Idris Moote
Idris Moote had a tough job. This man has just been appointed as the Chief Marketing Officer of Global smartphone manufacturer HTC. It's nothing, HTC very tough opponent.

Apple and Samsung in particular, still strong at the top. Latest Products HTC M9 may have a lot of potential. But HTC should improve its promotional strategy which is considered less effective.

In an interview, Idris also alluded to the main competitor. He praised but criticized Apple Samsung is judged only after profit.

"Today is all about how to create an emotional connection between the HTC with the individual. It is the most important thing. I think Apple is quite successful in connecting people with something that is actually just electronic products," said Idris.

"Apple is determined to something bigger. While other companies, which is a massive brand and company, do not hold on to anything except to make a profit," he quoted from Ad Age, Thursday (03/12/2015).

When asked if any other company in question is Samsung, Idris justify it. "Yes, or call another company," he said.

I wonder what the motivation Idris praised and criticized Apple Samsung. Certainly, HTC gets tough opponent of the Samsung Galaxy S6 which now has premium materials such as HTC One M9.
Moreover Galaxy S6 Edge with additional display of innovation in the two sides, got a lot of compliments. Not to mention the iPhone 6 is still strong sales.

Samsung itself certainly will hold a massive promotional campaign for the successful sale of the Galaxy S6. So what HTC promotional strategy?

"We have a company culture that is very quiet, not much to show off. This time, we have to do it," said Idris.

Yes, HTC is often considered less aggressive promotion, perhaps in accordance with their old slogan, Quietly Briliant. But it seems that this time will be different story, Idris will be more aggressive campaign to control the HTC although the budget could not by Samsung.
